Easy oatmeal banana cookies

When I say easy, I totally mean it.


-3 brown and mushy bananas

-1.5 cups of oats

-1 tsp ground cinnamon

-1.5 tbsp chia seed

-2 tbsp syrup

-2-3 tbsp melted nut butter

-1/4 tsp salt


Mash bananas, mix all ingredients, spoon onto two cookie sheets, bake at 350 for 13 minutes.

But TBH, here's how I really baked these cookies....

-thawed previously frozen bananas

-slit them with a knife, dumped in a bowl, mashed with a fork

-added roughly 1.5 cups of oats

-8 shakes of cinnamon

-poured chia for about 2 seconds

-drizzled syrup for about 4 seconds/approximately 2 tbsp-worth

-scooped 3 tbsp worth of sunflower butter but didn't level, or scrape out the spoon

-popped the nut butter in the microwave for 30 seconds, then dumped in

-ate about 10% of the dough with kids before scooping onto pan (no raw egg here, friends!)

-baked at 350 for 13 minutes

...entire batch eaten by the end of breakfast the next day. Look at those ingredients, though; no qualms here! Filled up our bellies with real food, a tiny bit of sweetener (syrup), and had fun experimenting :)

Now I just have to wait for more bananas to be on that delicate baked good vs trash balance. Clock keep on ticking!

....How do you honestly bake cookies? Step by step or mostly by eye-balling them?
